Some Quick Write Tips:
*Underline and capitalize the title of a book: The Autobiography of Malcolm X
*Make a new paragraph for each new section (even if you did not last year)
***Make sure you clearly connect the evidence to the thesis
*Give a page number for all quotes in this fashion (Haley 12). Do not write "page"
*Please give a topic sentence for each paragraph--DO NOT START A PARAGRAPH WITH A QUOTE FROM THE BOOK
*Use your notes for the TREEE*S format
After our notes we will:
1. Take quiz #1--no talking or you will receive a zero! You may use the book if needed--not notes!
2. When you are finished with the quiz please turn it in to me at my desk--you may have the rest of the time to finish worksheet #2--if you feel confident in doing so, you may start quick write #2---there are some notes on the back of worksheet #2.
