Section 2: Guns, Germs, and Steel

Today we will begin with vocabulary definitions for the second set of words:
1. formidable (adj)-inspiring fear or respect through being impressively large, powerful, intense, or capable.
2. infidel (n)- a person who does not believe in religion or who adheres to a religion other than one's own.
3. revere (v)-to regard with respect tinged with awe
4. subsequent (adj)-coming after something in time; following.
5. endemic (adj)-growing or existing in a certain place or region
6. provocation (n)-action or speech that makes someone annoyed or angry, especially deliberately.
7. antecedent (n)-a thing or event that existed before or logically precedes another.
8. envoy (n)-a messenger or representative, especially one on a diplomatic mission
9. serendipitous (adj)-occurring or discovered by chance in a happy or beneficial way.
10. debase (v)-reduce (something) in quality or value; degrade.
