Act 2, Scene 2
setting: Caesar's house in Rome
characters: Calpurnia, Caesar, Decius, Brutus, Trebonius, Antony, Publius
plot: Calpurnia feels her bad dreams/bad signs are predictions of danger for Caesar. Caesar at first agrees to stay home, but then changes his mind after Decius talks him into it--he tells him her dreams were a good sign, that they were going to give him the crown and they might change their minds, (using his ego against him) and he decides he will go. The conspirators arrive to walk him to the Capitol.
Today we will:
- Read Act 2 Scenes 3 and 4
- Write Scene Summaries in your packet for those scenes (on your own-setting, characters, plot)
- Answer any remaining questions in your Act 2 Comprehension Question Section (Scene 1: #11, 12, 13/Scene 2: #1-5, Scene 3: #1/Scene 4:#1-3)
- Try your best to complete pages 20 and 21 (identifying: setting, tone, mood) for homework--start in class if you have time!!!
