Sample Introduction

The American dream is something we all strive for: black, white, man, woman, old, and young. However, it isn’t always what we think it is. We learn lessons in our lives that show us what the true meaning of the “American dream” really is. In the play A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, the main character Walter, is used by the author to show the audience how money can blind a person from what is really important in life.
