We will be doing 2 things with this story:
1. Answer text-based questions on the story (handwritten or typed)
2. Take notes that will allow us to use this as a source for our research paper

1. How do the Crampton brothers feel about their sister Margaret?
ex: The brothers want their sister to get married. She states they are "desperate to be rid of me" (291). This is true because they don't want to have to support her.
2.How did their father die? Why is this significant?
3. How would you describe Margaret's position/significance in the family?
4. How would you describe Margaret's looks?
5. ***Describe Margaret's bonnet and how she looks at it. What does this say about her?
6. Who is Mr. Bailey?
7. How will her brothers react if she does not do as they ask?

11. What seems odd about Mr. Bailey's situation?
12. What does Margaret want the narrator, Jane Austen, to do?
13. What is she hoping she will find and why?
14. What do you think is the author's purpose for including Jane Austen as a character in the story?
15. Describe Margaret at the end of the story. What has changed about her? What about her bonnet?
16. What is the "best sort of husband" according to the story? (sorry guys)
17. Who do you blame here? Margaret, her brothers, or society? Explain.
