Read Act 3: Pages 130-140

Step 1: Copy the double-entry journal quotes onto your chart for 2.3:

Step 2: Read Act 3 pages 130-140

Step 3: Copy the following quote from Act 3 onto a sheet of a paper and explain what Asagai is trying to explain to Beneatha to the best of your ability (exit visa) DUE TODAY BY THE END OF CLASS!

What you just said--about the circle. It isn't a circle--it is simply a long line--as in geometry, you know, one that reaches into infinity. And because we cannot see the end--we also cannot see how it changes. And it is very odd but those who see the changes are called "idealists"--and those who cannot, or refuse to think, they are the "realists." Act 3, page 134

Step 4: Text-based questions (packet) through # 72

vocab:
idealist-a person who represents things as they might or should be rather than as they are
realist-a person who represents things as they are instead of how they might or should be
martyr-a person who is put to death or endures great suffering on behalf of any belief, principle,
or cause.

Quick Write #4: A RITS----------Both the worksheet and quick write are due today---NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!!!!!

Quick Write Topic: (Example Quick Write was on Friday 4/18)---Use your graphic organizer from your worksheet for help!!!!!!

Quick Write #4 RITS: Make at least three claims about the character of Walter displayed by the author in Act 2, Scene 3. Use at least one example from the text to support each claim and explain. Speech
Thoughts
Effects on others
Actions
Looks

For example:
claim #1: Walter is sexist
I saw this here:                       this shows he is sexist because:
I also saw this here:               this shows this because:
