Act V Scene Summaries--Copy in your notes
Lady Macbeth is seen sleepwalking and washing her hands;the doctor is concerned. Macbeth is still hopeful that the prophecies are true but prepares to fight; he is not too concerned about the Dr.'s warning. Malcolm's men cut down parts of trees in Birnam wood to camouflage themselves; Macbeth learns that the forest is "moving" and vows to die fighting; he learns his wife is dead with not much reaction. Macduff shows up and Macbeth still feels confident; when he learns Macduff was not "born" his confidence is lost and is killed. Malcolm becomes king.
