Charlotte Lucas has been secretly attentive and encouraging to Mr. Collins and aware of his shortcomings but wanting stability in her future, accepts a proposal of marriage from him.
Elizabeth is disappointed that her friend is humiliating herself for money and doesn't think she could ever do such a thing.
(Remember, Charlotte has already stated that it's only luck that determines if you are happy in marriage or not, because regardless of how you feel before the marriage, you start growing apart afterward regardless.)

So, who do you think is right? Is it wrong to want to marry someone who can provide for you even if you are not madly in love? Or, is it ridiculous to think love alone will be able to make you happy in life? (keep in mind a great number of divorces are caused by $ problems). Please explain your answer as thoroughly as possible.
