Today's classwork:

1. Malcolm had a difficult time writing Mr. Muhammad and praying because he felt illiterate and it was hard for him to get over his pride. Malcolm states, “the hardest test I ever faced in my life was praying,” (Haley 172). He had difficulty giving into religion. He also tells us he was, “pitifully unable to express” himself in letters, because of his lack of education (Haley 173).

Today we will:

*Continue reading an excerpt from Chapter 11 "Saved": middle of page 176-- ("The Norfolk Prison Colony's library...") to the top of page 179  ("...I started serious reading).
*You will then have the rest of the class time to watch the movie and work on Chapter 11 questions (Remember you are only choosing 10 or 14---or more for extra--credit.)
