2. With a partner, discuss the following questions and draft out some answers (1 group member will write them down--no need for RACE just restate and answer, possibly giving reference to the text when needed):
- What are your initial reactions to this article?
- Do you agree or disagree with his line of thinking?
- Are his feelings justified?
- Who are possible audiences for this?
- What possible purpose could he have in writing this (for each audience)?
- If he were here today, what questions would you ask him about his opinion?
- What elements of persuasion does he use (if any)? Do you think this is more informative than persuasive? Why?
REMEMBER THE DRAFT OF THE COLLEGE ESSAY IS DUE TOMORROW!! IT WILL BE A WORK IN PROGRESS!! IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE FINISHED!!!
