Self-editing Checklist for the Macbeth Essay
1. Did you write a multi-part thesis about Shakespeare’s use of foreshadowing AND how it created meaning in the play (what did it do for the audience?)
2. Did you use at least 4 in-text citations?
3. Did you use a proper MLA heading?
4. Did you make a Works Cited page? (a page by itself)
5. Did you connect your examples to your thesis—meaning, did you explain how your examples show foreshadowing and created meaning?
6. Is your essay at least 2-3 typed pages (double-spaced, Times New Roman, 12-pt font, 1 inch margins)
7. Did you write an introduction and conclusion?
