Happy Halloween--and I apologize for my absence..

Hello everyone. As you know my voice hasn't been doing well and I've been starting to feel under the weather, and today it has reached its peak. I apologize to you that I am not there to help you work on your papers today, but PLEASE KEEP WORKING!! I have left the sub with instructions to let you work on your paper. Please do not waste this time going online to look at videos/and other things. Here are some tips for body paragraphs (also visit the OWL AT PURDUE PAGE FOR ADDITIONAL HELP). I can always help you edit tomorrow---lastly a reminder, THE MACBETH TEST IS ON MONDAY!!!

Body paragraphs:
1. Needs a topic sentence(that lets you know what the paragraph will be about) and/or a transition for subsequent paragraphs.
2. Should have a textual example that supports your claim.
3. Should probably have a textual citation (this is when you use the exact words in quotes)
4. Needs to have some sort of analysis or explanation that shows how your textual example proves your claim

Think when we did all of our mini-writing assignments in class: (example)

Lady Macbeth was ruthless because she states, "Look like the innocent flower, but be the serpent under it." Here she is telling Macbeth to look nice and "normal" around Duncan, but to really be plotting his murder. This shows that she is manipulating her husband and does not seem to have any remorse or conscience about the evil deeds she wants him to perform.
