The Canterbury Tales: A Story-Telling Contest

Please copy:
GENERAL PROLOGUE
At the Tabard Inn, near London, the narrator joins a company of 29 pilgrims, who like himself, are traveling to the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket in Canterbury. The Host, whose name,is Harry Bailey, suggests that the group ride together and entertain one another with stories. Each person will tell stories on the way to Canterbury and on the way back. Whomever tells the best story will receive a meal at Bailey’s tavern.
So, there are two things we will read: the narrator describing the storyteller
and
the storyteller telling the story.
